Termination of Repositioning Service

29 July 2011

On 1 July 2010 Gas Transport Services B.V. and Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH launched a new product called “Repositioning Service” (GUD: GT&Cs Additional Services, Section 8; GTS: TSC 2011-2 article 2.9). This service offers customers the possibility to transfer part or all firm entry capacity at Emden EPT or NPT in one grid to the other grid (GTS -> GUD and vice versa).

As of 1 August 2011 the instructions of the following decision by Federal Network agency (FNA) will come into force: Decision in the matter of Capacity-regulations and tendering-procedures in German-gas-sector, as from 24 February 2011 („Festlegung der Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) in Sachen Kapazitätsregelungen und Auktionsverfahren im Gassektor vom 24. February 2011“). After that date all capacities at German Cross-Border-Points will need to be auctioned, which means that the Repositioning Service cannot be continued. For this reason GTS and GUD have decided to terminate the Repositioning Service as of 1 August 2011.
